FREA Open House held July 29th, 2017

The Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute, AIST (FREA) held the Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute, AIST Open House on July 29th (Saturday).
Unfortunately, it was rainy the morning, nevertheless more visitors came than the year before (a record high of 514 compared to 415 visitors in 2016), making it a major success.
At this fourth open house, FREA exhibited initiatives and business overviews, and held factory tours of companies that are conducting joint research with FREA, which received a very warm reception.
Thanks to the cooperation of various institutions, companies, and schools in Fukushima Prefecture, we were able to strengthen ties with local communities, and were able to introduce efforts made both inside and outside of Fukushima Prefecture to a wide audience.
In addition, by opening more new facilities to the public and increasing the number of areas for scientific experiments and experiences, visitors could have more fun while developing their interest in science and technology.
We aim to help many visitors experience FREA research and development as well as science and technology up close through this event, and will look forward to welcoming visitors again next year.
Next scheduled open house date: Saturday July 28th, 2018
