What is RSS?
RSS is a mechanism for notifying users of updated information, such as page URLs and summaries, and is written in XML. Information written in this way is also called RSS feeds. Many websites use icons such as and to let visitors know they provide RSS. By using software called an RSS reader, or a browser that supports RSS, you can obtain new information quickly and view it easily.
How to view RSS feeds.
An RSS reader or an RSS-enabled browser is required in order to view RSS feeds. (There are a variety of both free and paid RSS readers. AIST does not specifically recommend any one software in particular.
Load the URL for the RSS of the page in which you are interested into your RSS reader.
The reader will automatically update all information.

Once the RSS has been distributed, the page may be deleted or the URL changed due to end of publication.
Note that the RSS feed may be suspended or discontinued without prior notice.
While RSS subscriptions are free of charge, communication fees may apply. Please be mindful of this, particularly when viewing RSS feeds on your mobile phones.
Posting/redistributing RSS feeds
Links to RSS feeds may be posted, provided the content is provided free of charge and for non-commercial purposes, and the content of the feed is not altered. However, please refrain from inserting commercial information or articles such as advertisements into the RSS feeds, and redistributing same.
If you have established a new information service using the RSS feeds provided on this site, please inform the Public Relations Department of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology accordingly.
