Type C is a specially appointed position to undertake externally funded research projects, e.g. NEDO, JST or private companies. The job holders are required to work exclusively on the project sponsored by the funding institution.

Base monthly salary for new Ph.D. graduate is 327,700 JPY.
Additional amounts are added if you have proven professional experience after obtaining a Ph.D.

New Ph.D. graduate (28 years old): Approximately 7,100k JPY (before tax)
*The model annual salary applies when the Discretionary Working Time System is in effect.
*The model annual salary is the total of base monthly salary, work responsibility allowance, and bonuses. It does not include commuting allowance, etc.
*Since the full bonus is not paid in the first year of employment, the actual annual salary will be lower than the model annual salary.
