Greeting from the Director

　 At AIST Kashiwa, we are conducting research centered on "human augmentation technology" that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and sensing technology to enhance human capabilities for improving the quality of human life.
In addition, AI Bridging Cloud Infrastructure (ABCI), a high-performance computational system for learning calculations,
is provided in this center, and as an open platform to accelerate research, development, and social implementation of cutting-edge AI technology, is used by many companies, research institutes and   universities.

　In the Kashiwa-no-ha area, where AIST Kashiwa is located, various research and educational institutes, including the University of Tokyo, are concentrated.  The area aims to become a "smart city" that promotes the new vision for cities of future, and AIST Kashiwa is also conducting research that will lead to future urban development in collaboration with the local community.

　In addition, part of the curriculum of the "AIST Design School" for developing technical human resources is also carried out in the area.

 Technology becomes useful only after it is implemented in society. We will contribute to the creation of a better future in various fields related to people as a partner of companies that will be responsible for social implementation.
