AIST has developed private search systems for several types of databases, and especially succeeded in the development of a practical private search system for compound database.
AIST has furthermore moved forward the development of advanced encryption technology, including additive homomorphic encryption, which allows addition of encrypted data, and fully homomorphic encryption, which allows any operation to be performed on encrypted data. In particular, AIST has established cutting edge theory that enables the use of databases while they are still encrypted.
