We are recruiting researchers who have expertise and programming skills in machine learning, pattern recognition, natural language processing and/or high-performance computing, platform technologies. This position will engage in research and development of human-centered artificial intelligence technology with the aim of realizing a society in which AI is embedded in the real world and in which both AI and human evolve togeher through the process of solving problems cooperatively.

Title Research and development on function sharing via networks in distributed systems
Job Summary and Essential/Desirable Skills and Experience We will design connection functions through network-based function modules and task sharing for numerous robots, drones, and other systems, as well as peripheral functions for stable operation of these systems. In addition, we will consider measures to deal with connections and asynchronous state of operating information due to communication delays and information loss, and design and realize data management mechanisms and data flow control functions on the network. A fundamental technology will be established to integrate these functions and implement network intelligence on a shared network.
In addition, "Implementation Policy on Voluntary Research Activities, etc. of Young Researchers Employed to Implement Projects under Competitive Research Funds" (February 12, 2020, Relevant Ministries Liaison Committee on Competitive Research Funds) Based on the agreement (agreed upon), after recruitment, those under the age of 40 will be eligible for voluntary research activities that contribute to the promotion of this research and improvement of research and management skills, up to a maximum of 20% of their effort, if approved by AIST. In some cases, employees may be permitted to engage in activities that contribute to their goals.

Title Research and development of fall risk assessment and intervention technologies
Job Summary and Essential/Desirable Skills and Experience In order to prevent hazards such as falls that occur at nursing care facilities, etc., we will work on research and development that contributes to risk assessment, identification of the causes of such hazards, and performance improvement. In this project, staff members will not conduct research and development alone, but will work closely with researchers in other fields within the institute and staff members of partner companies to develop technologies that can be truly implemented in the field.
In order to promote the above research and development, we are looking for researchers who have a degree (PhD) in a field of biomechanics, ergonomics, physical therapy, statistics, service engineering, etc., and a relevant international research experience, and who can exchange opinions and share information with research personnel in other fields and non-research employees of collaborating companies.
Applicants preferably have a history of research on the prevention of falls and other hazards to the elderly, experience in clinical or related fields, and relevant qualifications. Applicants should also have management experience as a leader in an organization in order to promote the overall project while giving appropriate instructions to those involved, in addition to conducting research on their own in this case.
