FREA open day held July 28th, 2018

The Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute, AIST (FREA) held the FREA open campus on July 28th, Saturday, and 608 visitors came. (Last year 514 visitors.)

This is the fifth event since the inauguration of  FREA in 2014. This year we provided new menus such as the lab tour of Smart System Research Facility, and displaying the first commercial mobile hydrogen station using renewable hydrogen operated by Fukushima Hydro Supply Co., Ltd. Also, various laboratories, local companies and schools exhibited their activities.  FREA researchers provided scientific games and workshops for children, Aizu Gakuho high school presented about improvement of durability of Perovskite Solar Cells, and College of Engineering, Nihon University introduced achievements obtained by collaboration with FREA.
Thanks to the cooperation of them, we were able to strengthen relationship with local communities and introduce efforts in Fukushima prefecture to a wide audience.

We hope to help many visitors can feel familiarity with FREA research and development as well as science and technology through this event.

We will look forward to welcoming visitors  again next year.
