Announcement of RD20(Research and Development 20 for Clean Energy Technologies)
~An international conference on clean energy technologies by national research institute leaders from G20 nations~

The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) will host the Research and Development 20 for Clean Energy Technologies (RD20) conference in October, 2019.

Following Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s remarks during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, as well as the Meeting on a Long-Term Strategy under the Paris Agreement, RD20 brings together national research institute leaders from G20 nations in the clean energy field to combine the diverse knowledge at G20’s disposal for discontinuous innovation creation to greatly reduce CO2 emissions.

The conference will be a platform to join forces towards creative innovation by strengthening the alliances among research institutes from each country, and expanding joint international research and development.

DATE/TIME: Friday, October 11th, 2019 (all day)
VENUE: Hotel New Otani Tokyo (4-1, Kioi-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102-8578, Japan)

(A tour of FREA (Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute, AIST), targeted toward invited overseas research institutes, is slated for Saturday, October 12th, 2019.)
