The RD20 is a conference focusing on clean energy technologies for facilitating realization of a decarbonized society.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2nd RD20 conference is remotely held from September 29th to October 9th in two separated sessions, the technical sessions and leaders’ session.
In the technical sessions, top experts will give lectures followed by panel discussion in four specific areas: renewable energy, next generation energy management systems with batteries, hydrogen and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS).
In the leaders’ session, heads of leading research institutions from G20 member countries will present their individual perspectives for clean energy technologies with discussions upon possible opportunities for strengthened international joint research.
One of highlights, both in a technical session on Sept 30th and in leaders’ session, is a presentation by Dr. Yoshino Akira, the director of AIST Global Zero Emission Research Center (GZR) and 2019 Nobel laureate in chemistry.
