NIRE is concerned with a wide range of research fields such as
environmental protection, the development of natural resources
and new forms of energy, and industrial safety, all of which are
critical areas for our highly-industrialized society. |

| Technical Consultation |
NIRE accepts requests for technical consultation on matters related
to its research activities by means of telephone conversations,

| Technology Transfer |
Transfer of the results of research activities to outside organizations
by various means, including technical training, can be arranged

Those who wish to visit the institute are requested to contact

| Joint Research |
NIRE conducts joint research with private enterprises and other

| Joint Public- Private Sector Research |
NIRE conducts research in basic and fundamental fields in cooperation
with private enterprises under the "Joint Public-Private Sector
Research Rules of AIST" when such researches have high public
interests. The participants can work together by sharing research

| Symposium | NIRE holds a symposium twice a year to publicize and disseminate

| Contract Research |
NIRE conducts research sponsored by private enterprises on condition
that any useful results can be produced out of its ongoing research

| Tesing Services |
NIRE provides testing services in certain fields. Fees for these

| Certification and Others |
NIRE certifies mining instruments, powder and others in accordance
with the "Mining Security Law" and also certifies heat measuring

| Patent Licensing |
The property of inventions and contrivances produced through research
activities belongs to the Japanese Government. Those who wish
to implement inventions are requested to submit an application
