The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) has issued yearly environmental reports since 2004, and since 2010 has issued AIST Reports, which incorporates social responsibility (SR) into an environmental report. The AIST Report 2012: A Social and Environmental Report was edited with the aim of gaining an understanding of AIST’s social responsibility activities as well as open innovation activities, one of AIST’s missions, from various stakeholders with a reader-friendly explanation and thereby develop the relationship of trust between AIST and society.
