-The Present State of Recovery of AIST and Its Measures for Reconstruction-
AIST Tsukuba suffered considerable damage to buildings and research equipment from the Great East-Japan Earthquake.
Lifelines including power and water supply, information and communication infrastructure such as the Internet have been restored, and we have been making efforts toward the resumption of R&D. We have already resumed some R&D activities, while steadily carrying out urgent works for earthquake recovery.
We have established the "AIST Headquarters for Reconstruction", and are engaging in full-scale preparation for R&D resumption, with power savings and safety in mind.
Under the headquarters, we will unitedly advance the recovery of research facilities and the reconstruction of R&D at AIST Tsukuba and AIST Tohoku.
We will actively respond to consultations and keep providing information concerning the ongoing measurements of radiation dose.
Concerning AIST's measures, we would be grateful for your continued understanding and cooperation.
