The Second LANL-NEDO-AIST Workshop on Fuel Cell Performance Improvement & Hydrogen Storage Materials
November 19, 2007

Photo1The Second LANL-NEDO-AIST Workshop was held from October 30th to November 1st in Tokyo jointly hosted by National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and New Energy Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

The stimulus for this event was the newly amended MOU, which was signed among AIST (Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell Cutting-Edge Research Center (FC-Cubic) and Energy Technology Research Institute (ETRI)), the Institute for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Research, Los Alamos National Laboratory(LANL), and NEDO.

The workshop was held following the First LANL-NEDO-AIST Workshop, which was held last August in Santa Fe, New Mexico, U.S.A.

More than fifty top-level researchers, total of about eighty including observers, from AIST, NEDO, LANL and academia attended this event and energetically exchanged their views and findings on fuel cell performance improvement and hydrogen storage materials. In open public sessions, an extra seventy persons from the academia as well as the private sector participated in and contributed to the event.

The workshop ended with enormous success. FC-Cubic/AIST, ETRI/AIST, LANL and NEDO have jointly agreed to keep their cooperative relationships by continuing and promoting further exchange of information.
