Digital Human Symposium 2012

−Toward Human Centered Design−

Since the beginning, Digital Human Research Center continued the research on building functional models of human and has applied the model to industrial product design in collaboration with private companies. We are recently challenging to develop functional models of motion and sensation starting from model of geometry in order to enhance the interaction between a human body and industrial products.

This year, we will hold 11th Digital Human Symposium regarding the establishment of our laboratory focusing on "Human Centered Design". In this symposium, two invited speakers give speeches about their latest activities on human function and product design. Also, we will have a last commemorative lecture by Dr. Makiko Kouchi who plays a primary role in promoting Human Centered Design along with three speeches on the latest research activities in DHRC and two talks on the industrial application of our model in collaboration with private companies.

After the symposium, all the research activities at DHRC will be presented in an open house style demonstration at AIST Tokyo Waterfront, Odaiba. We are looking forward to discussing and exchanging opinions and discussing on Human Centered Design and Digital Human research with you.
