1.International Research Cooperation
@Basic and also applied researches on materials and chemistry covering a wide variety of research fields are carried out at our Institute, in order to contribute to the development of industries and to improve the quality of life. NIMC is cooperating with various countries, including developing and developed countries under various schemes for joint R & D projects, exchange of researchers and information exchange, in order to develop our research activities and also to contribute to international society. Postdoctoral fellowship programs: @Any candidate for the fellowship programs is required to receive a recommendation letter from a host researcher. Therefore, you should look for suitable researcher(s) at NIMC and contact them directly concerning post-doctoral work. The annual Review shown in the NIMC homepage will be helpful when looking for appropriate people to act as host researcher(s) at our Institute. If you need the e-mail addresses of the researchers found in the home-page, please contact the International Research Cooperation Liaison Office of NIMC, at the following address, stating the name of the researcher and his/her abstract number as listed in the Annual Review of NIMC.

2.Joint Research and Technical CooperationNIMC is performing joint researches and various kinds of technicalcooperation with a view of effectively utilizing its technical potential.
NIMC is conducting joint researches under the cooperation withother institutes in case such researches are considered to be effective for promoting development of new technologies. The " Joint Research Rules of AIST " regulate such joint researches. Contents and costs are shared between NIMC and the other parties. The participants in a joint research cooperate generally by exchanging their technical knowledge and experiences. |

In addition to academic presentation, NIMC's research results and activities are announced or introduced through news media such as newspapers and TVs as well as technical magazines and general magazines. Interviews by news reporters, etc. are made. NIMC's patents and utility models as well as pending inventions and contrivances are as shown on the right. Such industrial properties can be licensed with appropriate fees. Licensing agreements for such patents and other rights amount to 48 cases for 56 companies as of March, 2000. Recently, joint applications and joint patents with private entities have increased and numbers of such cases are shown in the bottom row. |
