3. Crawl-type Stair Lift for Wheelchair
Wheelchair users have been suffering greatly in society due to the existence of obstacles such as steps and staircases. To overcome these difficulties, a crawl-type stair lift has been invented and developed. This has shown a clear advantage over the conventional stair lift in which rotary motion of the disk is converted to linear motion by following on a drive guide. The crawl-type stair lift was developed to correspond to straight and spiral staircases respectively. By combining these two types, the crawl-type stair lift for a half-turn staircase has been developed. The crawl-type stair lift can climb up and down along the inner track of a half-turn staircase. This method has some advantage over the outer going one in that the former can correspond to infinite floors.
