R/V Hakurei-maru
Marine Geological Research Vessel Hakurei-maru
Hakurei-maru is a geological and geophysical research vessel, owned and operated by Metal Mining Agency, Japan. She is operated for several marine research projects of MITI (Ministry of International Trade and Industry) and related organizations.
Home port of Hakurei-maru is Funabashi. Here is a map to access Funabashi port (in Japanese).

- NH96-1: NEDO, Carbon cycle survey (geology). Coorporated with GSJ.
60 days, April-June, Western Pacific.
- GH96: GSJ-AIST, Marine geological mapping.

- NH96-2: NEDO, Carbon cycle survey (oceanography). Coorporated with NIRE.
60 days, August-October, Central Pacific.
- TH96: JNOC, Basic geological research of Antarctic continental margin.
110 days, November-February, 1996, Bransfield Strait and surrondings, Antarctica, south of South America.
