The Major Volcanoes of Japan
Many Japanese volcanoes are largely composed of silica-rich rocks such as dacite and andesite and are prone to highly explosive eruptions (e.g. Aso Volcano). Some Japanese volcanoes eject considerable quantities of low-silica basaltic lava, such as Fuji Volcano, represented by the three dimensional model.
