@Relief Model of the Pacific Ocean Floor
@Magma is ejected along the mid-ocean ridges and solidifies on contact with seawater to form new oceanic crust, which is then carried away from the mid-ocean ridges as part of the Pacific Plate at a rate of 3-10 cm a year. Portions ofthe Pacific Plate are subducted into the trench (blue lights) off the east coast of Japan.
